A crazy day/week/month/season at work has me daydreaming of this scene…
I snapped this photo on our Spring Break trip in 2015. I even blogged about the trip.
I’m ready to go back.
A bit of background… My world went into an insane tailspin on June 22nd 2016. My husband was laid off from his job of ten plus years. No reason given other than they eliminated his position. The kicker? I also work at the same place. About four hours later I get a phone call from my daughter and she tells me that she is pregnant. *deer in headlights* And so, it is the worst day ever and the best day ever.
The weekend prior to THE DAY, my husband and I enjoyed a long weekend in Fredericksburg while my network marketing company was doing their big shindig in Utah. I spent my savings during our trip as I felt like it was not going to be terribly difficult for me to save the funds again and still reach my year-end goal. Boy was I wrong.
I’ve been spending my “play” money on LuLaRoe, Sephora, and clothes for my daughter during her pregnancy. A couple of weeks ago, my daughter told me that she doesn’t need any more clothes right now. I’ve purchased most of her pregnancy clothes on Poshmark with funds from selling clothes from my closet. Poshmark is mostly awesome.
I have completed more bags and listed them on etsy. I am trying to be more diligent and sew in the evenings/weekends. I am also trying to photograph items weekly and list quickly after so that it doesn’t become a HUGE ordeal.
I’m not going to spend an entire blog post addressing the elephant in the room (lack of consecutive posts) and will just skip to writing as if I’ve never been gone. K? Good. I do want to get back on my daily posting schedule. Life is getting back into a groove.
This is one of my favorite products and as a former oily face teen, I cannot believe that I add oil to my face every morning but I do.
My love affair with Josie Maran 100 percent Pure Argan Oil Light began in mid-April 2016 and is still going strong. I apply one drop to my face and one drop to my neck every morning after I wash my face. It is amazing how soft my skin is with daily use. It also provides the perfect amount of slip when I apply foundation. Prior to discovering this gem, In my teens, I battled oily skin and horrible acne. In my early twenties, I was plagued with cystic acne. In my late twenties and thirties, my skin transitioned yet again and I had t-zone oiliness and dry patches. I am now 43yo and my skin is clear and with this amazing product my skin is in the best shape of its adult life.

My website was hijacked last month and I think that I finally have complete possession of it. I did have to restore the site to March – thus losing some data (posts/images, etc.) but the loss is worth it, if it did indeed “fix” the issue.
Passwords have been updated. Files have been deleted.
I pray that this site is on the positive side of this ordeal.
Have you ever asked your husband a deep question by first asking a crazy question? Yeah, I thought I could throw him off my agenda with the decoy question. We haven’t discussed it further… So, I might have succeeded.
I asked DH what I would be good at selling. His response “you’re the best friend” … Okay, how do I translate that into extra money when going back to college to become a therapist isn’t an option? Btw, I’m in two direct sales companies. #jjwdaily #texasblogger #curious #thebestfriend #mexicanfood #cheeseenchiladasbecauseitisafridayduringlent #dosequis #leticiasrestaurant #weimartexas #chipsandsalsa #queso #quesadillas #drpepper #ourtable
And his response that I’m the best friend and in his mind THAT quality does not make a good salesperson.
Well, I’m not a pushy salesperson. I am a sharer.
I share what I like with people that I think are receptive to what I have to offer. Not all people are receptive and therefore I do not share with everyone. Sometimes I will share with people I sense are not open but I do so anyway because my need to share is greater than the need to share with people who are open to what I want to share. #holyrunonsentence
I share what I’m doing to lose weight (TruVision Health supplements) and what I do for my sanity (running and sewing). I share nifty jewelry (Keep Collective) and pretty clothes (almost everything that @flauntboutiquetx on instagram posts AND LuLaRoe).
I love the look of heels but my feet and lack of coordination require that I wear flats. And so I usually wear (in no particular order): Nike Free Run 5.0, camo Crocs, Sanuk flops and loafers, pretty pink peep toe Cole Haan Nike Air leather flats, and my brand-new-to-me leopard Crocs.
I have other shoes. Cute shoes but they aren’t in heavy rotation. I did snag a pair of brown over-the-knee boots from a shop on Poshmark that I wore during the fall and early winter but it is Spring time in Texas and most of the brown is out of rotation. I love my black tall UGGs but even though I have treated them against the wet weather, I don’t prefer to wear them when the weather is wet/muddy. I also shouldn’t have watched that horrible video on Facebook a while back alleging the horrid ways that the materials were sourced. #shutters
I am currently passively selling my closet on Poshmark and have several items listed on Etsy, in addition to my Square shop on this site and Square’s marketplace. My mission is to rotate items from my possession into other’s hands and create some cash in the process. I accumulate items and periodically/randomly/sporadically, I like to reduce my collection and change direction. I also have yard sales as the weather and my work schedule allows. I love interacting with the public.
I have a gazillion tabs open in my mind and jump between them randomly. The point is… I share and don’t sell. And I finally discovered that I do have a tribe. My tribe consists of my DH, my daughter, my baby sister, and my mama. Ü
What are your thoughts? About this or anything else that you’ve read/seen on the blog… I’d love to hear/read.
